So I’ve tried Bareminerals bare skin ( you can click here to read the review) and loved it, and I tried the original powder before and really liked it, suprisingly even on my dry skin it looked luminous and great so I thought Id give it a go again.
I purchased the Get Started complexion kit in Tan…which although a bit dark for me as I am at the minute as my palest, Im usually NC40 but I’m probably NC35 at the minute so in summer or when I’ve fake tanned would be great!

So When I tried this on my hand it looked a dream, but when I tried it on my face – Il be honest I was underwhelmed – Having loved the BareSkin foundation and loving the original in the past – I was surprised to see it didn’t really do much for my skin this time round ( granted My skin is very dehydrated as I write this as I haven’t been very good at drinking my water! oops!)
So first went on the primer , the primer is silicone based so feels very slippery, which for some people works great but doesn’t seem to work very well on mine! – So not ‘swirl, tap brush’… the foundations seemed to not cover at all and just clung to every dry bit on my face and I just looked like a patchy mess. ( I will say however the mineral view was the saving grace! what a fantastic product!) …I Wasn’t convinced this was the full effect and so tried these on my mum…and WOW! My opinion had changed…My mum looked rested, glowing, tanned and gorgeous with this on, and she looks like she had naturally great skin, not a made up face. It also lasted on her all day! – Jealous much!… I want it to work on me too! ( I am going to try again when my face is in better condition!)
My mum also has very dry skin and applies astral day and night and lets to sink in before any make up application. Sure enough the primer went on like a dream ( I didn’t need to use very much at all – the tester packet could do 4 faces I’m sure!), Then the foundations I used the medium tan shade all over the face in circular motions using the medium sized brush,
and the dark ‘tan’ shade under the cheeks edge of forehead and jawline…wow it looked great!… Next I used the larger brush and on went the warmth to the cheeks as a bit of a glowy blush bronzer, again – looked fantastic. I then added the concealer under the eye using the small brush, the texture and coverage was great but I do think this was too dark for under the eye area ( so I used the BareMinerals cream concealer instead)… although would’ve been great for the face, to finish I applied mineral viel ( as if it could look any better!)….And it just seemed flawless and glowing!
So my opinion the winner of the products is the TINTED MINERAL VIEL! which makes your skin look flawless + even worked on me!….and Its definitely worth trying this products in store first because trust me if it looks like it did on my mum, Its every bit worth the go! – and by trying it first, if it doesn’t, at least you know you haven’t missed out!
